A rare survival of 17th century bakehouse. Single storey, single cell with lean-to at gable end. Pantile roof, stone chimney. Random rubble granite walls. Sits within rear yard of main house. Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795. There is also a datestone on the east wing of the main house
Old Jersey Houses
- "Instead of adding rooms to the north, as is most usual, the owners of this property built on to the east, probably in 1715, the date of a unique stone representing Philippe Fauvel and Elizabeth Bandinel, and containing an early example of the heart motif.
- "In the west gable wall, high up, is a very small and extremely old window with minuscule panes of glass. The join between the 17th and 18th century houses is masked by creepers, but must be beneath the central chimney."
- "The bread oven in the separate bakehouse is within the fireback, instead of to one side, as is the common practice. The hearth is made of brick and is probably not very old, but the central oven door recalls one at La hougue Boete, which appears to be about 1680.
- "The surrounding grounds are undulating, beautifully laid out, and fall to a small valley which leads down to Rozel
