Historic Environment Record entry
Listed building
Historic farm group, principally 18th century with circa 15th century origins, retaining character and features. Of particular note are the high quality early windows on the rear, north interior wall; the first floor chamber fireplace and the unusual detached west block (of unknown date or function, the pigeon holes of which could point to manorial status or links).
Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795.
The function of the detached west block could have been of a small chamber block with under stabling for animals.
Central entrance: all is modernised except for stone features. Ground floor west has an 18th century stone fireplace flanked by openings with stone headings. Ground floor east has similar fireplace only, and a rebated stone doorway leads in from the east extension. Ground floor rear, north wall are two windows, the one at ground level west is 4 piece wide chamfered probably late medieval circa 1450, and the other at half level, centre sits behind the modern staircase. It is hollow chamfered probably circa 1500. It could have once illuminated a now lost tourelle. At first floor level west is a chamber fireplace circa 1700.
