Historic Environment Record entry

Listed building

A house showing evidence of having been upgraded in the late 17th century. Incorporates some rare features including a 17th century chamber fireplace and most unusual medieval beam.

Shown on the Richmond Map of 1795. The presence of the very rare early beam in a ground floor room, possibly reused from elsewhere, and what could be remaining evidence of the existence of a now lost tourelle on the north wall (now enclosed within the rear extension), suggests a circa 1690 upgrade of a much earlier house.

Old Jersey Houses

Not included in either volume despite 17th century features
