It is strange that this property has not been listed because the main house appears to date from at least the early 19th century, and outbuildings are older. It is one of a few properties which is mentioned in Old Jersey Houses but has no HER listing
Old Jersey Houses
- "Here, as so often happens, the earlier house has become a stable building. It was single-storey with one upper window which fitted under the curve of the thatch. The front door has become a window, and two windows are now doors. The building faces west and its south gable retains the uprights of a fireplace, chamfered on oth sides.
- "In the attic many pottery vessels were found, as well as some documents [3] belonging to a sea captain named de Gruchy.
- "There is one most interesting item here, seen nowhere else; the pig sties are continuous with the bakehouse, so that the end sty was warmed by the bread oven, and there is a peephole through the wall enabling the farmer to watch his farrowing sow and to be ready to help her."
