Listed building

Single storey cottage characteristic of the St Clement and Grouville coastal area, with many external features surviving. Public Registry records show that Thomas Le Rougetel purchased a parcel of land on La Mielle de St Clément in 1885 and sold Hope Villa in 1891.

One of a number of single storey fishermen's cottages along this stretch of road.

Notes and references

  1. It is interesting that when it was sold in 2004 the address of the property was given as St Clement's Coast Road, whereas 15 years later the fashion to revert to French names of island locations saw it's address given as Grande Route de La Cote. It is likely that most islanders would still call it by its English name
