Regency seaside villas with high quality ironwork to verandahs.
Early example of this building type which contributes to streetscape on a sweeping promenade. A pair of villas, now combined as hotel. Principal building is three-bay, three-storey with semi-basement (third storey added late 20th century with loss of original brick chimneystacks).
First floor verandah under concave metal roof, elegant ironwork balustrade and pillars incorporate heads and anthemion designs. Granite steps to door. Set behind rendered low wall with dressed granite coping with iron railings and gates shared with neighbour. Lower building to east. Front elevation: pitched slate roof, elevations rendered. First floor verandah partly under concave roof, partly extended to roof of ground floor extension; elegant ironwork balustrade and pillars incorporate heads and anthemion designs. Each villa retains its original staircase.
