The late 19th century house and cottage to the rear form an attractive ensemble, retaining exterior historic character and making a positive contribution to the scenic value of the First Tower area.

House - originally First Tower Inn, circa 1889. Cottage - possibly built as fishermen's cottages late 19th century. Used as a hotel/inn either immediately or soon after construction - operated as either a hotel or public house for over 110 years. First appears in the 1889 rates list. The 1891 census states that the First Tower Hotel was owned by Peter Toneri (publican and harness maker)

Three-bay, two-storey house with adjoining three-bay, two-storey cottage to rear.
