Descendants of Philippe Billot
|
This tree was added in 2021 by Mike Bisson to show the ancestry and descendants of the Billot family of Holmdale, St Martin. Four generations of the tree were previously shown in two other Billot trees in the website, but it was found that the did not fit there. There is considerable confusion in online trees surrounding the families of two Philippe Billots in the late 18th century. One, born in St Martin in 1770, married Francoise Godfray and their descent through ten children is well documented. The other, at the head of this tree, was born in Trinity in 1771 and married Elizabeth Godfray, possibly Francoise's sister. This Philippe died at sea soon after the birth of their first and only child, also Philippe, and it seems that the child was never baptised. Elizabeth never used her married surname from then on. She built a new house for herself and her son, at a property formerly known as La Gaupette Billot family page and links to other trees
Record Search
You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates. The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.
