Record Search

If you want to search for records for any name in this family tree, or for any other family name, just click below on the first letter of the family name you are interested in. This will open a new tab in your browser giving you a list of family names beginning with that letter, for which there are baptism records in our database of half a million church and public registry records.

You can also select marriages or burials. Select the name you want and when the list of records is displayed you can easily refine the search, choosing a single parish, given name(s) and/or start and end dates.

The records are displayed 30 to a page, but by selecting the yellow Wiki Table option at the top left of the page you can open a full, scrollable list. This list will either be displayed in a new tab or a pop-up window. You may have to edit the settings of your browser to allow pop-up windows for www.jerripediabmd.net. For the small number of family names for which a search generates more than 1,500 records you will have to refine your search (perhaps using start or end dates) to reduce the number of records found.

Notes and references

  1. Partage (1612) of the inheritance of Gilles Le Sueur, between Philipot Le Sueur, principal heir and eldest son of Gilles Le Sueur, fils Philipot, and also Clement, Jean and Noel Le Sueur: L/C/103/A/1/1 (1612), at the Jersey Archive, translated version by their staff (online)
  2. R.P.3/24 (1609): Purchased from Philippe Godel, fils Thomas, his house, land and "manoir", the latter being the former Manoir des Augrès, later called Brasdefer, named after earlier seigneurs of that fief. For the Godels` unsuccessful and ruinous action against the Lemprieres, persued over many years, see Godel
  3. Placement provisional
  4. "Of Augrès, killed by his musket": Trinity register. Partage of the inheritance of the late Noel Le Sueur, 17/2/1626, between "Jean Le Sueur son and principal heir of the [said] Noel Le Sueur and Jeanne, his wife, and Jean Le Sueur fils Raulin, of the 2nd party": L/C/103/A/1/6, at Jersey Archive
  5. Jean Le Sueur, fils Noe`s wife, Elizabeth Le Manquais, is named jointly with her husband in a contract dated 15/10/1639: L/C/103/A/1/8, at Jersey Archive
  6. Partage (1693) of the estate of the late Jean Le Sueur [grandfather? or uncle?] between Noe Le Sueur, Susanne Le Sueur, Catherine Le Sueur and Sara Le Sueur, children of the late Noe Le Sueur and Lucasse Coutanche, his wife, of the 1st part; and Jean Le Sueur, eldest son and principal heir of Noe and Lucasse Coutanche, his wife: L/C/103/A/1/20, at Jersey Archive. Another contract, relating to Jean, rather than to his siblings, was his purchase of rentes in 1704 from Marguerite La Cloche, widow of Pierre Maret. He is described as "Jean Le Sueur, fils Noe, fils Jean, fils Noe": L/C/103/A/1/24, at Jersey Archive
  7. "Jean, fils Jean Le Sueur, fils Noe" was baptised in 1629, Trinity, with Jean Le Manquais as godfather
  8. Presumably an infant son, a minor, although the Jersey Archive online transcript makes no mention of this. Should it transpire that he was older, the estimated dates of birth on this tree will need adjusting
