- ↑ Of Sous Les Bois, Vingtenier of Rozel, Trinity, 1593-
- ↑ Of Sous Les Bois
- ↑ Initials on the gable of Sous Les Bois: "TDG 1683"
- ↑ Either Jean or just possibly his father, left initials on the gate-post at Sous Les Bois: "IDG.1743" although the "I" has been over-painted as a "T" during the 20th century
- ↑ Their daughter Jeanne married in 1799, Jean Le Geyt of La Guillaumerie, shortly before that property`s sale to Edouard Falle
- ↑ Of Sous Les Bois, Rozel; Vingtenier of Rozel, 1800-
- ↑ Died aged 90 years and 6 months and buried as "veuve Thomas de Gruchy" on the 3rd April 1840. She was baptized on the 12/11/1749, daughter of Laurens du Feu and Jeanne de Gruchy, his wife, and should not be confused with Marie du Feu (1750- ) daughter of Nicolas du Feu and Marie Le Sebirel, his wife. Marie du Feu, wife of Thomas de Gruchy, had a brother named Laurens (1745-1793)
- ↑ His godparents were Laurens du Feu senior and Jeanne de Gruchy, his wife
- ↑ Died aged 89 years in 1864. In Le Quesne and Dixon, The de Gruchys of Jersey, 2nd Edition (2000), 113, Jeanne is mistaken for the woman of this name born in 1760 to Pierre de Gruchy and Catherine Le Riche. This has now been amended
- ↑ Presumably the man of this name who bought Sous Les Bois (1815) from his father-in-law's curator. His family recently bequeathed it to the National Trust for Jersey
- ↑ Her godparents were Nicolas du Feu junior (1756- ) and Marie du Feu, who was probably his sister, baptized in 1750
- ↑ Of Les Bouillons, Rozel: Trinity Register (1825)
- ↑ Perhaps of Pouch Cove, Newfoundland
- ↑ Bought in 1699, and built shortly afterwards, Les Hougues Farm, the house being now called L'Abri des Hougues, on La Route des Côtes du Nord, Trinity
- ↑ RP 25/5
- ↑ Mariner and farmer of Les Hougues Farm, Rozel
- ↑ The couple married in 1745 and had five children. Marie inherited L'Abri des Hougues from her father and it passed to her eldest son Jean
- ↑ Perhaps went to Massachusetts
- ↑ Died when young
- ↑ Seaman, Royal Navy, aboard HMS Lancaster (1739), PCC Probate 1742. Unmarried
- ↑ Perhaps the London-based Privateer Captain of Royal Anne Galley, whose PCC Will (proved in October 1721) mentions his wife, Elizabeth, and sons Daniel and Phill, (sic). This provisional placement is based on elimination, as Jean (1659- ) is the only individual of this name found in Island parish registers, `partages` or contracts by the authors of The de Gruchys of Jersey, who actually could have been the privateer captain. It should be borne in mind, though, that this mariner may have been born out of the Island, to a parent of Jersey stock. His immediate family had no descendants, however, as his sons Daniel and Phill, judging by their P.C.C. Administrations, (November 1721 and December that year, respectively), died with their father, serving as crew aboard the same ship. Their administrations mention their aunt, Ann, wife of Thomas Lumsdall, who is described as the paternal aunt in one grant and maternal aunt in the other, that of December! Philip was described as a minor and both were bachelors
