- ↑ Master Mariner; Master of John de la Lande`s 69 ton schooner, to which he had gaven his name, John, 1825- 1834?. Owner, as Nicolas Pallot & Co. and variously Master of the 34 ton cutter, Charles, 1835-1844, the 38 ton cutter John and Mary, 1841-1856 and of the 60 ton cutter Queen, 1846-1851. Messrs. Pallot and Le Scelleur owned this vessel jointly from 1856-1863- . Cutters such as these, owned by St Martin and Grouville men, were mostly engaged in oyster dredging off the east coast of Jersey. There, the oyster fisheries were at their most fruitful in the 1830s, reviving a few years later. Some other notable St Martin and Grouville owners were Elias Whitley, George Asplet, John and Mark Cantell and Edward Collas
