Sir de Vic Graham Carey was Bailiff of Guernsey from 1999 to 2005. He was born on 15 June 1940, and evacuated only a few weeks before the arrival of German troops in Guernsey.

He became a solicitor with the Supreme Court of Judicature in 1965 and an advocate in the Royal Court of Guernsey in 1966. He was in private practice from 1966 to 1976, and served as a People's Deputy of the States of Guernsey from April to December 1976.

He was HM Comptroller from 1977 to 1982, HM Procureur from 1982 to 1992, and HM Receiver-General from 1985 to 1992. He was Deputy Bailiff from 1992 to 1999 and Bailiff from 1999 to 2005. He was knighted 2002. He has been Lieut-Bailiff of the Royal Court since 2005.
