The land registry records that George Le Vesconte built the house on land he acquired from John Mollet in 1848 - the house then sold to John Vardon in 1850.

A mid-19th century cottage that retains its original character and features, contributing to the streetscape in a sensitive location opposite the parish church. Three-bay, single-storey cottage of double-pile plan form, with small wing linking with Catherine House; rear outhouse.

The cottage has a pitched slate roof with pair of rendered chimneystacks with cornice moulding, and ornate ridge cresting.
