Old Jersey Houses

Demolished in 1975, this house took its name from the fact that Charles Ferdinand, Duc de Berry, nephew of Louis XVIII, stayed there from January to April 1814.

It must at that time have been quite a new house.

The simple frontage, with a Venetian window, led one to expect rather better interior decor than was the case.
